4 Ways to Create a Stylish TV Wall

Like us, we know you've binged more Netflix in the last month than you have in a full year (collecting votes on Carole's guilt). So whether your TV is mounted or free standing on a media console, it's likely become your eye's primary point of contact. And because a giant black rectangle doesn't exactly say "edgy design choice", we've collected a few of our favorite ways to lend design support to your favorite wall.

Black Box

Remedy

We begin with our all-time favorite antidote to the "black box" design flaw - the Samsung Frame TV. If you're feeling maximalist, surround your new "frame" with colorful art with different size and style pieces.

This is our genius solution to the age-old couple's argument about TV versus artwork and how we double as therapists. An especially great option for those who get bored easily (hi!) since you can change this artwork daily based on your mood, style, or dinner party crowd.

Elegant Gallery Wall

If you're drawn to simple, elegant design and prefer things tidy and symmetrical, your TV style is a black and white gallery wall. Choose any photo, print it in black and white, add a white matte and metallic frame, and neatly arrange them around the TV.

*Designer Tip: To ensure a clean look, only use photos of the same subject scale. Decide whether you prefer closeup, artistic shots or wide shot family photos to maintain balance.

Bookshelf Savvy

Let your accessories shine but don't over do it - we're working to avoid distracting clutter here. If you're the neutral type, keep the backdrop mellow and add art lights overhead. Then reincorporate a few pops of light color and metals without being too stimulating (think greenery, non-patterned pieces and stick to volume, anchored items).

If you prefer a more modern approach, choose a charcoal or navy color for your built-ins and work with light colored accessories for contrast.

Make a Statement

Maybe you prefer your furniture to be the design hero. Look for a textured or patterned console to create visual interest that will distract from the TV (I see you, vintage pieces!). Statement pieces are wonderfully invigorating in small spaces - just be sure to use patterned items sparingly or you'll run the risk of feeling cramped.

Storage + statement = win-win!
